Cued Speech Europe is one of the new challenges, which implementation we have begun recently. The first meeting of all partners of the project took place on December 2nd, 2020, and was held online (due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions). Representatives of all organisations from three countries participated in it: Italy (Istituto dei Sordi di Torino and Euphoria Net Srl), Belgium (ALPC and LogoPsyCom), and Poland (besides the ARTeria Foundation, representatives of the Catholic University of Lublin). After short presentations of all partner organisations and discussing the most important goals and project activities, we focused on discussing the idea and presenting the characteristics of cued speech in every language of the partnership. Then, the representatives of the Catholic University of Lublin, the coordinator of creating the first outcome of the project’s work – “The Cued Speech method and its advantages” brochure, also presented the range of actions and the schedule of work in the following months. The representatives of IST discussed the following actions (IO2) – the creation of an online course.
In the next part of the meeting, i.e. matters associated with the management of the project, popularisation, and evaluation of the project were discussed. The representatives of the ARTeria Foundation, Wenancjusz Ochmann and Zuzanna Stachura, presented assumptions concerning digital presence, including a logo and the first version of the project’s site.
Cued speech is receiving a better understanding and acceptance from specialists and parents, who appreciate the effectiveness and facility of using this method.
