The closing event of the DiOtherCity project was organised on 31 May 2023 in Pyskowice under the theme ‘The power of local stories’. The programme of the meeting included a presentation of the results of the DiOtherCity’ project, which were presented by Wenancjusz Ochmann of the ARTeria Foundation. The main objectives of the project, the project consortium, the results and the website were discussed. It was a great opportunity to present the project’s methodology, show examples of tools and results already created (tours) and the benefits of using digital content. In turn, Katarzyna Szota-Eksner (yoga teacher and herstory enthusiast, author of a book on local herstories) talked about the power of local herstories, and Roland Skubala (historian, passionate about the history of Pyskowice/Peiskretscham) invited the audience on a tour of Pyskowice in search of non-obvious stories. Finally, there was time for discussion and networking over refreshments.
The dissemination event in Poland not only allowed ARTeria to disseminate the project idea, activities and goals, but was also a great opportunity to discuss the idea of supporting artists/creators and local communities in the development of suburban areas and smaller towns.
