Disorderly Women – meeting in Athens

Anna Ochmann, president of the ARTeria Foundation, was invited a few years ago to join an elite group of women leaders in the cultural sector in the European Union – Disorderly Women (she is the only Polish woman in this group).

The aim of ‘Disorderly Women, the Alliance of Women Leaders in Culture’ is to promote and support women working in leadership positions in the cultural sector in Europe. We encourage solidarity among women leaders in the cultural sector in Europe and raise their visibility. We empower both existing and emerging generations by reflecting on urgent and timely perspectives, sharing experiences, exchanging competences and fostering new collaborations and connections.

The COVID pandemic has meant that the group’s annual meetings have not taken place in recent years, but in 2023 we were finally able to meet in Athens (4-5 October 2023). The meeting produced a manifesto (available soon on the organisation’s website) which is about EQUALITY, SOLIDARITY, VISIBILITY.

The group’s future activities and openness to new members were also discussed, as well as plans for the next meeting.
