On 15 April 2023, the third module of the project ‘Poets of Today – Voices of Tomorrow’ took place at the Silesian Museum in Katowice. The workshop meeting, attended by both teachers and poets and the artistic team, was entitled ‘Poetry as inspiration’.
The most important aim of the day was for the poets and poets and the participating teachers to meet and get to know each other, integrate and establish cooperation. The programme also included a summary of Modules 1 and 2 and the conclusions of the international meeting in Belgrade, as well as a discussion of ideas for the realisation of the poetry event ‘Discovering the poetic side of the city’ in the urban space scheduled for 16 June 2023 in Gliwice. The highlight, however, was the poetry reading – poets and poets read their poems, there was an opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of words and metaphors, and to talk afterwards. There was also a draw – pairing poets with schools for further individual work on poetry lessons planned for early 2024.
At the end of the day, participants had the opportunity to visit the permanent exhibitions at the Silesian Museum, which gave them a better understanding of the history of the region.
