On 18 May 2026, the third Local Living Lab meeting of the GreenCCIrcle project took place at the Culture Station of the Municipal Centre for Culture and Arts (MOKiS) in Pyskowice. The workshop was facilitated by Wenancjusz Ochmann from the ARTeria Foundation.
The event brought together representatives of local government, cultural institutions, civil society organisations, artists, and educators involved in community engagement and environmental initiatives. It provided a space to explore the role of culture and the arts in raising environmental awareness and to discuss the challenges of climate education for different social groups.
Participants highlighted the importance of creative activities that encourage longer creative processes, responsible use of resources, and thoughtful production rather than the rapid creation of disposable objects. The discussion also addressed the challenges posed by the high cost of environmentally friendly materials and the implementation of more sustainable production models within the cultural and creative sectors.
An important part of the meeting was dedicated to sharing examples of local initiatives implemented in Pyskowice. Participants discussed projects based on resource sharing, neighbourhood cooperation, and community engagement, including clothing and plant exchanges, local markets, eco-picnics, nature walks, events organised around Lake Dzierżno Małe, and a community garden maintained by senior citizens. These examples demonstrated how local initiatives can effectively promote environmentally responsible attitudes while strengthening social cohesion.
The discussion also emphasised the important role of artists and cultural institutions in communicating environmental issues through visual arts, workshops, public events, and participatory activities that engage local communities. Participants agreed that a successful green transition requires cross-sector collaboration, stronger community ties, and intergenerational dialogue. They also observed that children and young people are increasingly becoming ambassadors of environmental change, inspiring older generations to adopt more sustainable behaviours.
