The latest meeting of the partners of the REACT project in Belgium

tags: REACT

The latest meeting of the partners of the ‘REACT – Resources for European Accessible Cultural Tours’ project organised in Mons (Belgium), on 16–17 October 2025, was a great opportunity to review what has been achieved so far and plan the next steps. Together, we shared our experiences in creating inclusive tours developed in collaboration with museums and cultural institutions. The partners are working on, among others:

  • audio guides,

  • Easy-to-Read (ETR) materials, making content more accessible for people with reading and comprehension difficulties,

  • interactive 360° virtual tours,

  • Genially presentations raising awareness about the needs of people with disabilities.

We believe that inclusive access to culture is essential – everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background, has the right to feel part of the community and benefit from cultural heritage. Culture teaches us empathy, openness, and mutual understanding.

The Municipal Centre for Culture and Art in Pyskowice is an associate partner of the ARTeria Foundation in project activities in Poland. Together with the exhibition team from the institution, we are working on the accessibility of the exhibition ‘Pyskowice Miasto’ – an educational and historical permanent exhibition presenting the rich history of the town’s post-war development and the importance of the Pyskowice railway junction between 1945 and 2005. It was created on the basis of unique archival materials, documents, photographs and private memorabilia, obtained thanks to cooperation with residents and local institutions. Visitors are particularly interested in, among other things:

  • archival photographs from the post-war expansion of the city,

  • documentation of urban plans from the 1960s and 1970s,

  • original information boards and platform signs,

  • clocks and railway equipment from the former ‘Pyskowice Miasto’ station,

  • railway employee uniforms and service accessories,

  • local boards and railway infrastructure markings,

  • a miniature of a mysterious sculpture by Stanisław Hochuł, whose history was rediscovered thanks to Julia and Jarosław Słomski.
