tags: POT-VOT

Małgorzata Lebda, lead poet of the Poets of Today – Voices of Tomorrow project, and Anna Ochmann, project manager, took part in several events organised as part of the Frankfurt International Book Fairs which are the world’s most important event for the book industry. From 18 to 22 October, the 75th anniversary edition of the fair took place under the motto ‘And the story goes on’. The jubilee edition of the fair attracted as many as 215,000 visitors (including 105,000 trade visitors and 110,000 readers) and 4,000 exhibitors from 95 countries worldwide. The event featured a total of 2,600 different events covered by 7,000 media representatives. The first two days of the Frankfurter Buchmesse are traditionally aimed exclusively at representatives of the publishing industry, while the weekend also features events aimed at readers. The organisers reported that this second, festival part of the event was attended by 30 per cent more visitors this year than last year.

As part of the event, the project partners presented the first book publication developed as part of the project (LINK) and organised two events with poets participating in the Poets of Today – Voices of Tomorrow project: Małgorzata Lebda (Poland), Harri Hertell (Finland), Márton Simon (Hungary), Radmila Petrović (Serbia) and Veronika Dintinjana (Slovenia).

On 19 October 2023 at 19:30 at the International Theatre in Franfurt, Dirk Hülstrunk hosted an evening of poetry with female poets.

On 21 October 2023 at 11:30 a.m. behind the Finnish booth, the poets and poets presented texts from the new publication and the audience will be able to participate in an open Q&A with the poets and poets.
