IMPACTO, or an inspiring week (5–9 May 2025) in Turin with representatives of several organisations from Europe. Exchange of experiences, innovative educational practices, mentoring, networking. Lots of games and new project ideas! (and, by the way, the opportunity to see several exhibitions organised as part of EXPOSED – Torino Foto Festival, including Carrie Mae Weems’ “The Heart of the Matter” and Olivo Barbier’s “Spazi altri”).
The main goal of this meeting was to increase the competence of people working with young people by teaching them advanced techniques for engaging young people, mentoring and community building. The programme covered a variety of topics, including:
-
Understanding the needs of today’s young people
-
Building meaningful development pathways for young people through innovative practices
-
Developing and implementing youth programmes
-
Conflict resolution and crisis management
-
Promoting inclusion and diversity
The added value of this mobility lay in its potential to significantly improve the specific and transversal competences of the trainers and youth workers involved. By strengthening local and international networks between organisations, both existing and new partnerships were consolidated. Strengthening networks is crucial for supporting innovation in youth work, as it enables the exchange of good practices and new strategies for promoting local community development and alternative forms of participation, especially for young people with fewer opportunities.
The project also aimed to contribute to a broader discussion and recognition of youth work in Europe and Italy, sharing insights to improve local policies and promoting international guidelines.
