Representatives of the ARTeria Foundation participated in the latest GreenCCIrcle project partners’ meeting, held in Matera, Italy, with additional participants joining online. During the working sessions, the consortium reviewed the project’s progress, assessed the activities completed so far, and planned the next stages of developing tools and models that support the green transition of the cultural and creative sectors.
An important part of the meeting was participation in the third Living Lab, organised by Materahub and AIKU in cooperation with Esperimenti Architettonici, an organisation specialising in innovative urban regeneration, social design, and community engagement through the co-creation of public spaces and services.
The workshop focused on the practical design of solutions inspired by the principles of the circular economy. Participants worked on the concept of “anti-souvenirs”—objects created locally and responsibly, using materials, craftsmanship, and stories connected to a specific place. The aim was to move beyond mass-produced souvenirs and explore more conscious, meaningful, and sustainable approaches to design and local production.
The meeting demonstrated that GreenCCIrcle is about much more than discussing sustainability. The project actively promotes experimentation, collaborative prototyping, and the development of practical solutions that can support more responsible models of cooperation, production, and cultural practice within a circular economy. Through this approach, partners are working together to shape a more sustainable future for Europe’s cultural and creative sectors.
