An international project in which partners from Poland, Slovakia, Belgium, Italy, and Spain develop innovative approaches to cultural heritage education through gamification, digital technologies, and interactive quests. The project is designed for young people aged 16–26, as well as educators and youth workers, supporting the development of civic, digital, and social competences through engaging exploration of local and European cultural heritage.
The project delivers a comprehensive set of educational resources, including a mobile application, a web platform, geolocated and virtual quests, learning materials, and a training programme for educators. Participants learn through storytelling, problem-solving, and interactive challenges that combine reliable historical content with innovative educational methods. By blending cultural education with digital innovation, the project promotes active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, and meaningful participation in society, demonstrating that cultural heritage can become an inspiring environment for developing the competences needed in today’s world. Through its combination of online and on-site learning experiences, Civic Heritage Quest offers a scalable educational model that can be adopted by youth organisations and educational institutions across Europe.
