An international project implemented as part of the PesText Festival 2026–2027 and co-funded by the International Visegrad Fund, aimed at strengthening literary and artistic cooperation among the Visegrad countries while fostering dialogue between culture, nature, and urban space. The project addresses two key contemporary challenges: reconnecting urban communities with the natural environment and increasing the visibility of contemporary literature written in the “small languages” of Central Europe.
Partners from Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia jointly organise international literary events, translation workshops, exhibitions, interdisciplinary programmes, and artistic residencies, creating opportunities for writers, translators, illustrators, visual artists, and cultural professionals to collaborate. The project promotes contemporary Central European literature through innovative formats, including flash fiction, illustration labs, drama translation, and multilingual events combining literature, music, and visual arts.
A central element of the project is the mobility of artists and the development of long-term V4 professional networks. Through workshops, public events, and collaborative artistic activities, participants not only present their work to new audiences but also establish lasting partnerships and explore new ways of interpreting the relationship between people, nature, and contemporary urban life.
The ARTeria Foundation is responsible for coordinating the participation of Polish authors, artists, and experts in the project and contributes to the development of the international programme. The initiative features meetings with leading writers, international translation workshops, illustration laboratories, exhibitions, and multidisciplinary events showcasing the richness and diversity of contemporary Central European literature and visual arts.
