Venue: SÚKROMNÁ ŠKOLA UMELECKÉHO PRIEMYSLU in Žilina, Slovakia. Date: 22–23 January 2025. Participants: AI4CREATIVITY project partners. Task: to test AI-based tools useful in the cultural and creative sector and to design an online course structure for future users.
An inspiring time with project partners, wonderful hosts and work in five areas of art: music and sound, storytelling, design, visual arts and video/animation.
The workshop focused on developing resources for students as part of WP3, with an emphasis on integrating AI-based tools (tool sheets) into the ongoing work on relevant work processes. The main objective was to discuss and refine ways of implementing 30 tool sheets on AI tools in 24 examples of workflows for the creative industries, ensuring their accessibility and practicality for external artists and adult learners.
The main objective was to hold coordinated discussions and brainstorming sessions focused on implementing the tools and workflows into an e-learning course containing one common part on the basics of creative artificial intelligence and educational experiences in five specific areas. It was planned to divide the responsibilities for the course materials after discussion among the partners. The partnership confirmed a clear schedule and a thorough understanding of each party’s roles. It was also agreed that the project tasks had been fairly distributed among the partners and that they were well prepared for the coming months. The atmosphere among the partners was excellent.
The main advantage of this partnership is its interdisciplinary and international nature, combining diverse perspectives and expertise in both artificial intelligence and creativity. This collaboration fosters innovation by combining technological advancement with human artistic expression, enabling new ways of thinking and designing. Furthermore, the exchange of knowledge between different cultural and professional backgrounds increases the impact of the project, ensuring a comprehensive and globally relevant approach to AI-based creativity.
Participants also discussed how the rapid development of artificial intelligence poses a serious challenge to the long-term usefulness of the results and the course. Therefore, they concluded that it is more practical to focus on developing skills in working with and using AI tools than to focus solely on specific tools that are subject to rapid change.
