On 6 October 2025, the Municipal Centre for Culture and Sport (MOKiS) in Pyskowice hosted a workshop dedicated to improving the accessibility of cultural institutions and events for people with disabilities. The meeting was organised as part of the European project REACT | Resources for Accessible Cultural Tours.
The workshop provided an opportunity to deepen participants’ understanding of how exhibitions and cultural activities can be designed in a more open, inclusive, and accessible way, taking into account the diverse needs, abilities, and experiences of audiences.
Participants explored practical examples of accessibility measures implemented in cultural institutions. The discussions focused on sensory accessibility for people with visual and hearing impairments, as well as digital and communication accessibility, highlighting ways to design content and events that can be fully enjoyed by a wider range of participants.
An important part of the workshop was the exchange of experiences among participants. The discussions demonstrated that even small changes in the design of spaces, communication methods, or event programmes can significantly improve the cultural experience for diverse audiences.
