The European Parliament elections 2024 are approaching, preceded in 2023 by the mid-term review of the Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF), which might add extra resources to the EU’s budget for the second half of the financial cycle. As we believe culture is a fundamental value for democracy so that it is our duty to imagine the future place and role of culture and cultural heritage in Europe. The Cultural Deal for Europe campaign – by Culture Action Europe, European Cultural Foundation and Europa Nostra – presents eight proposals to put culture centre stage in EU’s policies.
ARTeria as a member of CAE is engaged form the beginning in this campaign.
On February 28, 2023 Anna Ochmann, president of ARTeria Foundation, will discuss these topics with the members of the European Parliament representing various political groups. It will be an open and democratic conversation between the European policy-makers and the cultural ecosystem. Katy Lee, journalist (The Europeans) will be the moderator of the meeting, welcoming words and introduction will be presented by Lars Ebert, Secretary General CAE, André Wilkens, Director ECF, Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailovic, Secretary General Europa Nostra. Closing remarks will be held by MEP Sabine Verheyen (Chair, EP Committee on Culture and Education)
